Jenni's abstract work is primarily intuitive and her preference is to paint to live worship music. To begin one of these pieces, she creates a textured base of mixed media on boxed canvas - thick dribbles of glue over sand, tissue and newspaper over which she roughly paints gesso and splatters “dirty-turps”. Once properly dry, she paints glazed layers of intensely coloured oil paint which grow into swirls of tiny detailed patterns and gems that merge and shift and change and are guided by the abstract base and her intuition and senses. Most of her paintings are parts in a series. This allows her to create a sense of continuity and harmony; part of the dance of her experience and pursuit of peace.
